Understand this route
When an employer files an online work-permit application, which authority is competent and what happens next.
What to check
- Where a separate permit is required, the employer—not the worker—files the application. For work for a Polish employer, the competent Voivode follows the employer's seat or permanent residence.
- The application is filed online through praca.gov.pl. A permit concerns particular work conditions; it does not replace a lawful basis of stay. Keep the filing confirmation and check a new employer's conditions before changing work.
- For the standard permit, the official fee is PLN 400, or PLN 200 where work is to last up to three months; other permit types have separate conditions and fees.
- If a necessary fact is unknown, use the verification route rather than assuming that you qualify.
