Editorial Policy

This policy explains how DryRights maintains content independence, resolves conflicts between sources, corrects errors and handles sponsored material.

Independence

DryRights' editorial decisions — which facts to publish, how to phrase them and when to update them — are based on official sources, not on payments, advertising or partnership relationships. Partnerships or funding (including grants such as Horizon Europe) do not grant the right to determine the content of legal or procedural material.

Resolving conflicting sources

When official sources conflict, DryRights:

1. prioritises the higher-level source (a law over an instruction, a national authority over a regional clarification where the conflict concerns jurisdiction);
2. checks the date of each source — a more recent official source takes priority;
3. contacts the competent authority for clarification where necessary;
4. if the conflict remains unresolved, labels the section "Needs clarification" and describes the conflict itself rather than hiding it.

Corrections policy

Anyone can report an error through the site's form. Each report:

• is checked against an official source;
• if confirmed, leads to an update of the record;
• if material, is recorded in the material's version history;
• does not publish the reporter's personal data.

DryRights does not guarantee a fixed correction timeline, but critical errors (deadlines, fees, authority contact details) are given higher priority.

Sponsored content

DryRights does not currently publish sponsored or advertising content within editorial material. If this changes, any paid or partnership-related material will be clearly labelled as such, kept separate from independent editorial content, and will not influence the wording of legal facts.

Funding and grants

Participation in programmes such as Horizon Europe or other grants does not imply that DryRights holds public-authority status, or that it is officially endorsed by any government body or the European Commission. DryRights remains an independent private initiative.

Conflicts of interest

If a person preparing or reviewing material has a personal or financial interest in a specific outcome, that fact is disclosed or the review is handed to another person.
